DKC advises companies on the planning and execution of short, mid-term and long-term strategies.

Identifying and Evaluating Project Risks

The starting and fundamental point for devising a winning strategy on a project is the identification, assessment and mitigation of risk. With our legal, regulatory and sector expertise, we first identify these risks. We then assess these risks in terms of likelihood of crystallization and its consequence should a particular risk materialize, and working into the project strategy options for avoidance and mitigation of those risks.

We also take the approach that not every risk is “bad” – we often add value by improving a client’s negotiation position with its counterparty by leveraging certain risks or finding opportunities out of certain risks.

We provide bespoke strategic advice because we have the experience of running similar projects through their lifecycle, including overseeing project restructurings and devising winning strategies on high value and complex disputes.

There is little value in generic advice.

We do not provide generic, theoretical advice that adds little to no value. Instead, if we push hard on a point, it is because we have the very real experience of knowing how it can affect a project in real-time and the likely fall-out. As your advisors, it is often our primary function to take the load off our clients and to add value by identifying issues that may not have been on your radar but that we know, through our experience, are relevant and real concerns which need proper consideration and assessment.
